چکیده

The study was carried out to evaluate the effects of various doses foliar application chitosan on spinach growth, yield, and quality characteristics (including chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b, total chlorophyll, carotenoids, ash, main nutrient contents). Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) used set up field experiment, with six treatment combinations [T0 = Control (no application), T1 100 ppm solution, T2 150 T3 200 T4 250 T5 300 solution] three replications. results revealed that applying at different significantly affected growth (viz., plant height, number leaves per plant) yield spinach. Moreover, due doses, there were notable differences observed in phenol, ash contents sample contained an average 13.61–15.82 mg g chlorophyll–a, 9.16–10.18 chlorophyll–b, 22.77–25.85 chlorophyll. On contrary, effect showed a statistically significant difference P, K, Zn, Fe highest amounts K obtained from T3. However, most biochemical properties reduced by higher (treatments T5) chitosan. Finally, according study's findings, rate affects pigments,

Biochar impact on physiological and biochemical attributes of Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) in nickel contaminated soil

Disastrous effect of nickel on spinach was discussed by number of authors but the effect of amendments like biochar with nickel on Spinacea oleraceaL. is not still discussed by any author of the world because biochar was used as soil amendments which play a vital role in reducing mobilization and uptake of nickel by spinach plants.  As nickel contaminated plants are very harmful for th...

Novel defensin subfamily from spinach (Spinacia oleracea).

Antimicrobial peptides (So-D1-7) were isolated from a crude cell wall preparation from spinach leaves (Spinacia oleracea cv. Matador) and, judged from their amino acid sequences, six of them (So-D2-7) represented a novel structural subfamily of plant defensins (group IV). Group-IV defensins were also functionally distinct from those of groups I-III. They were active at concentrations < 20 micro...

Effects of Anaerobiosis on Chlorophyll Fluorescence Yield in Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) Leaf Discs.

When spinach (Spinacia oleracea) leaf discs were incubated in a dark anaerobic environment, the chlorophyll fluorescence yield was much increased relative to the aerobic control. Occasionally, the fluorescence yield of the darkened anaerobic samples approached 80% of the maximum fluorescence. The anaerobic incubation period also induced in a leaf disc the capacity to exhibit a low light-mediate...

The Impact of Spectral Composition of White LEDs on Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) Growth and Development

Light-emitting diodes (LED) are a promising light source for the cultivation of edible vegetables in greenhouses. The spectral radiation of the light sources has an impact on plants physiological parameters, as well as on morphological features. In this study the growth of spinach plants has been carried out in experimental boxes under two white LED treatments having different correlate color t...
